About Second Draft Psychotherapy

Your Life Doesn't Have to Stay in the First Draft

We help you break cycles, move forward, and start your second draft

Most people don't come to therapy because they think they’re broken. They come because they're tired.

Tired of replaying conversations, second-guessing decisions, chasing certainty, or feeling stuck in the same patterns over and over again.

Many of the people we work with are thoughtful, capable, and self-aware.

They're doing everything they know how to do.

Thinking harder. Researching more. Seeking reassurance. Trying to finally feel certain.

Yet somehow the same struggles keep showing up.

Over time, life can start revolving around fear, uncertainty, avoidance, and mental exhaustion.

At Second Draft Psychotherapy, we help people understand the patterns keeping them stuck and develop new ways of responding so they can move toward lives that feel more meaningful, connected, and their own.

Why second draft?

The name comes from a simple belief:

Most people don't need a completely different life. They just need a different way of living the life they already have.

Many of the strategies that once helped us survive can eventually start limiting us.

Overthinking. Perfectionism. Avoidance. Compulsive behaviors. Constant reassurance-seeking. The endless pursuit of certainty.

These strategies often begin with good intentions. But over time they can slowly shrink a person's life.

Therapy is not about becoming a completely different person. It's about learning how to relate differently to your thoughts, emotions, fears, and uncertainty so you have more freedom to build the life you want.

Because sometimes the next chapter doesn't require a complete rewrite.

Just a better draft.

THE MEANING BEHIND THE NAME

Our Approach

We believe therapy should help you do more than simply manage symptoms. It should help you unravel your patterns and give you practical ways to respond differently.

While every therapist brings their own personality, strengths, and clinical experience, our practice shares a common philosophy:

We help people understand the patterns keeping them stuck, develop greater flexibility in how they respond to life's challenges, and move toward what matters most.

Our work focuses on helping people:

  • Understand their minds instead of feeling controlled by them

  • Respond differently to anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and uncertainty

  • Step out of rigid or repetitive patterns

  • Build stronger relationships and healthier boundaries

  • Clarify what truly matters

  • Create a life guided more by intention than fear

Our goal isn't perfection or a life free from problems.

It's to help you build a life that feels more grounded, more flexible, and more connected.

The Right Therapist Matters

Every therapist at Second Draft Psychotherapy shares a commitment to thoughtful, evidence-based care while bringing their own personality, background, and areas of expertise.
